Custify + Granola

Integrate Granola with Custify to enrich customer meetings with AI summaries, transcripts, and recording details

Granola is an AI note-taker for macOS and iOS that records meeting audio locally and creates transcripts, summaries, and action items without sending a bot into the call. It works across Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, so the customer conversation stays focused instead of becoming another bot-attended meeting.

Customer Success teams use Granola to keep account conversations documented without live note-taking. Custify adds Granola AI content to the calendar meetings already imported into Custify, so call context sits next to product usage, health scores, renewal dates, and customer history.

What can I do with Granola in Custify?

Custify + Granola adds meeting intelligence to the customer records your team already uses in Custify.

  • Enrich existing Gmail or Outlook calendar meetings with Granola AI summaries, full transcripts, and recording metadata.
  • Match Granola notes to the right meeting using participants, a 15-minute time window, and title comparison.
  • Import each AI summary as a separate Note entity, linked to the first company or person on the meeting, with the tags you choose.
  • Show enriched meeting data inside the Customer 360 Profile and the meeting Touchpoints timeline.
  • Capture late-arriving notes with a 48-hour incremental sync lookback, so summaries that finish after a call still attach to the right meeting.
  • Skip meetings that are already enriched, so re-syncs do not create duplicates.

Custify + Granola does not create meetings in Custify. It only enriches meetings already imported from Gmail or Outlook, and it leaves meetings without a matching Granola note unchanged.

Common use cases

  • Hand off an account without losing context. The next CSM reads the AI summary and transcript inside the Customer 360 Profile instead of asking for a recap.
  • Prep for a renewal in minutes. The CSM can review recent call summaries from the Touchpoints timeline before the renewal call.
  • Find commitments and feature requests. Teams can search enriched meeting notes to see what was promised or requested.
  • Keep onboarding and QBR calls documented. Each tracked calendar meeting carries the customer conversation summary.
  • Organize notes by topic. Teams can apply tags to imported Note entities so meetings are easier to filter later.

How does Granola work with Custify?

Custify + Granola pulls each Granola note through the Granola API and attaches it to the matching calendar meeting in Custify.

How matching works

  • Custify matches participants by mapping emails to people or companies in Custify.
  • Custify matches the meeting time within a 15-minute window, which covers late starts and early recordings.
  • Custify compares meeting titles with flexible matching, not exact title matching only.
  • If the title does not match but the participants and time line up, Custify can still enrich the meeting.

What gets added to the account

  • AI-generated summary
  • Full transcript with speaker attribution
  • Recording metadata
  • Optional Note entity linked to the first company or person on the meeting, with your chosen tags
  • Enriched meeting data in the Customer 360 Profile and Touchpoints timeline

How it works, step by step

  1. Granola records and processes a meeting on macOS or iOS, then generates the transcript, summary, and action items.
  2. Custify pulls new Granola data through the API every 2 to 4 hours after the first full sync.
  3. Custify matches each note to an existing calendar meeting by participants, time, and title.
  4. The matched meeting is enriched with the Granola summary, transcript, and recording metadata.
  5. If the Note option is on, Custify imports the AI summary as a separate Note entity with your tags.

How do I activate this integration?

Custify + Granola needs setup on the Granola side first, then a short configuration step in Custify.

  1. Generate your Granola API key
    • Sign in to your Granola workspace.
    • Go to Settings > Workspaces > API.
    • Click Generate API Key and copy the value. Only workspace admins on the Granola Enterprise plan can generate keys.

    • After the first sync, Custify pulls new Granola data automatically every 2 to 4 hours.

Integration settings in Custify

A Full Sync imports existing notes and enriches any meeting that matches your calendar history. After that, Custify pulls new Granola data every 2 to 4 hours. A 48-hour incremental sync lookback re-checks recent meetings, so summaries that finish after a call still attach to the right meeting. The Import AI Summary as Note toggle controls whether each summary also becomes a tagged Note entity in Custify.

Notes and important information

  • Granola API access is available on the Granola Enterprise plan, and workspace admin permission is needed to generate the API key.
  • Custify + Granola only enriches meetings that already exist in Custify from your Gmail or Outlook calendar.
  • Custify + Granola does not create meetings, and meetings without a matching Granola note are left unchanged.
  • Already enriched meetings are skipped during re-syncs, so Custify does not create duplicate enrichment data.

FAQs

Can Granola summaries become Custify Notes?

Yes. The Import AI Summary as Note setting saves each Granola summary as a Note entity with the tags you choose during setup.

Does Custify need Gmail or Outlook calendar sync for Granola?

Yes. Custify + Granola enriches meetings already imported from Gmail or Outlook. A meeting must exist in Custify before Granola data can attach to it.

Can CSMs use Granola transcripts for renewal preparation?

Yes. CSMs can review Granola transcripts and summaries in the Touchpoints timeline before renewal calls, QBRs, onboarding reviews, and handoffs.

How does Custify avoid duplicate Granola meeting notes?

Custify checks whether a meeting already has Granola enrichment before adding new data. Enriched meetings are skipped during later syncs.

Where does Granola meeting data appear in Custify?

Granola meeting data appears in the Customer 360 Profile and the meeting Touchpoints timeline, next to the rest of the account history.
