How does Grain work with Custify?
Custify connects to your Grain account using an API key and registers a webhook to receive recording notifications in real time. When a meeting is recorded in Grain, Custify automatically finds the matching calendar meeting already in Custify (imported from Gmail or Outlook), and enriches it with Grain data.
Matching works by comparing meeting participants, recording time (within a 15-minute window), and meeting title. This ensures recordings are linked to the right meeting even when calls start a few minutes late or participants join early.
From a connected Grain account, Custify enriches matched meetings with:
- Recording URL (direct link to view the recording in Grain)
- AI-generated overview of the meeting
- Action items extracted from the conversation
- Key topics discussed
- Decisions made during the call
- Recording start and end times, duration, and thumbnail
When enabled, Custify also creates a Note with the full AI summary, linked to the relevant company or person, so it appears in the account activity timeline.
FAQ
Does this integration create new meetings in Custify?
No. The Grain integration only enriches meetings that already exist in Custify, imported from your Gmail or Outlook calendar integration. It does not create new meeting records.
What if a recording doesn’t match a meeting in Custify?
The recording will not be imported. For a match to occur, the meeting must already be in Custify, at least one participant must exist as a person or company, and the recording time must be within 15 minutes of the calendar meeting.
Does Custify store the recording files?
No. Only the recording URL and AI-generated data are stored in Custify. The actual recording file stays in Grain, and viewing it requires Grain authentication.
Can I get meeting summaries as notes on a company profile?
Yes. Enable the “Import AI Summary as Note” option in the integration settings. Custify will create a note linked to the relevant company or person for each enriched meeting.
How quickly are recordings enriched after a call ends?
In real time. Once Grain finishes processing the recording, it sends a webhook to Custify, which enriches the meeting within seconds.
